Rewards of reciting Surah Kauthar
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Asalamalakium, I want to know is there any Hadiths which
says that when looking at sheeps or sheepfolds Surah Kausar should be recited,
a person who recites will get the blessings equal to their wool or hairs?
Please reply me.

Answer:
Rewards of reciting
Surah Kauthar
In the name of Allah,
We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah
Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the
seal of His Messengers.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith
2137 Narrated by Abdullah ibn
Mas'ud
Allah's Messenger
(saws) said, "If anyone recites a letter from Allah's Book he will be
credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a tenfold reward. I do not say
that ‘Alif-Lam-Mim’ are one letter, but ‘alif’ is a letter, ‘lam’ is a letter
and ‘mim’ is a letter."
There is absolutely no doubt
that the recitation of the blessed Surahs of the Glorious Quran are meritorious
in the Sight of Allah Subhanah and a believer will earn rewards for every
letter that is recited from this Glorious Book.
But, to the best of our
knowledge there is absolutely no evidence in either the Glorious Quran or the
authentic Sunnah which states that one is to recite the Surah Al-Kauthar when
one witnesses a sheep or shepherd, or the specific rewards associated with it!
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
