Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
Do not withhold excess of water, so that you may prevent the growth of herbage.
8) بَاب تَحْرِيمِ بَيْعِ فَضْلِ الْمَاءِ الَّذِي يَكُونُ بِالْفَلَاةِ وَيُحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ لِرَعْيِ الْكَلَأِ وَتَحْرِيمِ مَنْعِ بَذْلِهِ وَتَحْرِيمِ بَيْعِ ضِرَابِ الْفَحْلِ
وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَرْمَلَةَ - أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم . " لاَ تَمْنَعُوا فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ لِتَمْنَعُوا بِهِ الْكَلأَ "
