32) Chapter: Father Seeking The Consent Of A Virgin With Regard To Marriage
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet said: "A previously married woman has more right (to decide) about herself (with regard to marriage), and a virgin should be consulted by her father, and her permission is her silence."

32) باب اسْتِئْمَارِ الأَبِ الْبِكْرَ فِي نَفْسِهَا ‏.‏
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏‏ ‏.‏ "‏ الثَّيِّبُ أَحَقُّ بِنَفْسِهَا وَالْبِكْرُ يَسْتَأْمِرُهَا أَبُوهَا وَإِذْنُهَا صُمَاتُهَا ‏"
